Is the Oslo Card the same as the Oslo Pass?

Where can I buy the Oslo Card?

You can purchase the Oslo Card in three ways: conveniently online via our partner Tiqets, directly in the official Oslo Pass app or on site at the Oslo Visitor Center at Oslo Central Station.

We recommend purchasing via Tiqets because you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your travel date free of charge - an advantage that the direct app purchase does not offer.

Can I cancel free of charge if my plans change?

2 App and activation

How does the Oslo Card work - do I need an app?

The Oslo Card has been completely digital since 2024 - no physical card, no collection at the Visitor Center.

Procedure after purchase:

  • Step 1: You will immediately receive a voucher code by e-mail.
  • Step 2: Download the official app „Oslo Pass - Official City Card“ from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Step 3: Redeem voucher code in the app.
  • Step 4: Activate before first use - the countdown starts from this moment.

Show the QR code in the app at attractions and on public transport. Multiple passes can be managed on one phone.

When does the validity period begin (24, 48 or 72 hours)?

The card is not valid from the time of purchase, but only from the time of activation in the app.

Activate the card shortly before the first use. From this moment on, the countdown runs to the hour (not by the day). A 24-hour card that is activated on Monday at 14:00, is therefore valid until Tuesday at 14:00 - regardless of the calendar day.

Important: Once you have activated the map, you can no longer pause or reset it.

What happens if I don't have Internet?

For the initial activation, you need an Internet connection once. After that the QR code also works offline, you can show it at attractions and on local transport without having to be online.

3 Public transportation and airport

Which zones are covered in local transport?

Is the trip to Gardermoen Airport included?

The Flytoget express train is not included - but with a little trick you can still travel much more cheaply.

Gardermoen Airport is located in zone 4. Oslo Card covers zones 1 to 4 - however however, the direct Flytoget express train is a separate provider and always to pay extra.

Which attractions are free of charge?

Does the Oslo Card entitle me to preferential entry (skip-the-line)?
